I am taking writing 7 at Arlington. The class is for academic writing and is great for TOEFL preparation. What I like about this course is how it is laid out; in week one, we go through new vocab and do a lot of reading. From week two, we start doing serious writing and learn how to effectively structure our essays. Listening is also involved as an important part of our studies. We finish up a one-month semester with a TOEFL exam on a computer. Frankly, this course is tough; however, there are always laughs in class and we study in a relaxed atmosphere. What is more important, our teacher Tristan is a great teacher with a great personality. He is always enthusiastic and makes us laugh. He is the best teacher I have ever had and this course is the best I have ever taken!

After finishing my ESL school, I needed to find a more challenging subject. Since I didn't have an interest in getting a diploma, I decided to improve my English skills by studying TOEFL at Arlington. Before registration, I took a trial lesson, and then I made up my mind because the teaching methodology was well organized and I was impressed by the small class policy. In the small class, I could get more chances to interact with my teacher. Especially in the writing class. We usually write an essay every day. For me, it was pretty challenging, but with the highly qualified teachers and plenty of chances to communicate with them, the class became comfortable. Finally, I could build solid writing skills. This school is friendly, but strict. It has a relaxed atmosphere, but teachers, staff, and students are hard working. If you want to improve your English skills, and you are a hard working person, this school is for you.
